Well Played, GQ

In the January 2011 issue of GQ, the editors tackle an uncomfortable idea I've been unable to put into words. They say:
Here's what we'd like to see happen. Jon [Stewart], admit that you're doing a news show...You don't have to stop taking shots...just quit taking them from a duck blind marked LOL J/K.
Don't get me wrong, I love Jon Stewart. He is a legitimate and entertaining source of news. Like it or not, he's become part of the news media in our country and it's cheap for him to keep insisting he's not.

Word of the day

Authentic
The Oxford English dictionary says it means, "of undisputed origin; genuine."
What's it mean for you? Think about what you wear. Is it the same thing you've been wearing for 10 years? That doesn't make it inherently good or bad but a little change is always nice. Now when you make that change think about making a little throwback to what you wore as a kid or in high school. The new you will be exciting and fresh but still you. Maybe it's the alma mater sweatshirt on game day or maybe its your grandfather's watch but its not an excuse to dress like you're still in middle school.

IBM's smartest employee. Who is WATSON?

IBM has developed a computer with the task of competing in Jeopardy! against human opponents. Watson, as it is called, will have to analyze clues, recognize subtleties and understand regular spoken language. The video is really interesting (and a bit humorous).

Frustrated in arguments?

Ever find yourself in an argument thats impossible to win because your opponent is living in some fantasy land where the facts don't exist?

Here's an interesting idea from Scott Adams, writer of Dilbert.

Gone Shoppin'

Want a fresh take on style and shopping?

May I suggest Trunkclub.com?

They'll ship you clothes for free, with no obligation to buy and free return shipping. How do they make money? Well the only reason I'm not signing up now is because I know I'd be breaking out the credit card.

What will you get in your trunk?
