The Oxford English dictionary says it means, "of undisputed origin; genuine."

What's it mean for you? Think about what you wear. Is it the same thing you've been wearing for 10 years? That doesn't make it inherently good or bad but a little change is always nice. Now when you make that change think about making a little throwback to what you wore as a kid or in high school. The new you will be exciting and fresh but still you. Maybe it's the alma mater sweatshirt on game day or maybe its your grandfather's watch but its not an excuse to dress like you're still in middle school.

That's what ManStallions have been saying all along. Here is an interesting article from the LA Times about the decline of men wearing flashy jewelry. What I take from this is article is that more and more men are starting to move towards the ways of the ManStallion.
